Love Notes for Trees at the 2019 Sustainability Expo
The Tacoma Tree Foundation partnered with the City of Tacoma to have a booth at the 2019 Sustainability Expo in Tacoma, WA. Visitors to the booth were able to learn about opportunities to participate in educational opportunities and tree planting activities. Visitors also had a chance to write a love note to a tree. Become a Community Tree Steward
Become a recognized Tree Steward with the Tacoma Tree Foundation. During this 4-class program, participants will learn best practices for planting and caring for young trees, how to talk to your neighbors about trees, how to organize tree planting events, and how to access available resources. This free training program is coordinated and led by Tacoma Tree Foundation with support from the City of Tacoma Office of Environmental Policy and Sustainability Small Grants Program and the Puyallup Watershed Initiative Forest COI.
The Thursday series will be 11-1 on April 25, May 2, May 9, and May 16 at Centro Latino 1208 S 10th St in Tacoma.
The Tuesday series will be 5:45-7:45 on April 30, May 7, May 14, and May 21 at the Moore Public Library at 215 S. 56th Ave in Tacoma.

This pruning workshop focused on current best management practices related to pruning. The instructor, Ben Thompson from WA DNR, discussed ways to think critically about pruning decisions. The workshop included a hands-on demonstration where participants worked in small groups to practice pruning.
